Equipment
General
All players require a glove and water bottle. Mosquito spray and sunscreen are often desirable. During cold and/or rainy weather players may require a long sleeved shirt, light sweatshirt that fits under the uniform, and/or light jacket. No metal cleats are allowed on shoes but rubber cleats are recommended. Players may wish to purchase their own batting helmets to ensure a good fit and to protect against the extremely low risk of hair lice being spread. Face masks on helmets are mandatory for Mite(9&10 years old) and above divisions effective 1 April, 2009.Note: no jewellry is allowed(ear rings, bracelets, piercings, necklaces) except for medical alert bracelets which must be taped down.
Learn to Play
Learn to play divisions are provided with uniforms(pants/jerseys) and visors/hats. Socks are not provided. Softball cleats are optional in learn to play.Squirt
Pelvic protectors(jills) are required for catchers and recommended for pitchers. Your coach may require/recommend them for additional players. The Squirt C level is provided with pants, jerseys and visors - socks are not provided. Softball cleats are desirable in this division - check with your coach if they are mandatory.Squirt A and B players will be issued jerseys and visors. The players in A/B must purchase Royal Blue shorts, sliding shorts, knee pads, socks, and cleats. See picture below which also shows a jill.
PeeWee/Bantam/Midget
Pelvic protectors(jills) are required for catchers and recommended for pitchers. Your coach may require/recommend them for additional players. All levels will be provided with jerseys and visors. Players in all levels must purchase: Softball cleats, Royal Blue shorts, sliding shorts, socks, and knee pads. See picture below which also shows a jill.
