Frequently Asked Questions

Q.What days of the week will I play? What dates does the season run?
A. Please see last years schedules under the Schedules menu at the top of this page for an idea of what the schedules are likely to look like in the upcoming year. There is a LTP tournament on the last weekend of June as well(week before the July long weekend).

Q.How is Learn to Play different from community leagues?
A.
  • Coaches receive a 2.5 hour training session and pre-planned lesson plans and CDROMS with videos demonstrating skills/activities. Lessons are aimed at keeping things age appropriate, active, and fun.
  • Children in Beginner, Novice, and Mite are issued uniforms and visors/caps. The visors/caps are yours to keep.
  • Because the Lazers are one of the zones in the Regina Minor Softball League, your child may find it easier to transition to more competitive softball at age 11(A, B, and C divisions available to suit the desired level of competition). They will continue to be a "Lazer".
Q.Where are the games played?
A.For the Blastball, Beginner, and Novice divisions games have been played at the main RMSL diamonds at 9th Ave. and Broad North. The Mite division plays at the main diamonds as well as surrounding area schools.

Q.Can my daughters/sons play together even if they aren't in the same division?
A.If you believe the younger sibling can cope in the older LTP division you may request that they play together on your registration form. Normally players would only be moved up one division and players are never moved down a division. Note that for Squirt(11-12yrs) and above players must play in their age groups' division.
