Learn to Play - 3
Levels: Beginner/Novice/Mite Born in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004

The Learn to Play program promotes basic skill development/fundamentals
of softball, player participation and most of all FUN! Games
in Beginner(2004) are lead up games(using an aspect of softball) played amongst
the team. In Novice(2002/2003) and Mite(2000/2001) levels, games begin with
a practice (where the fundamentals are
taught)
followed
by a game
against
another
team.
Squirt - Born in 1998, 1999 - $160.00
Here is where the skills learned in the LTP program come into play. Beginning in this age group, the athletes are divided into A, B and C teams based on skill level. This division encourages athletes to try out different positions – find a couple they like – and begin developing their skills and knowledge of the game at these positions. This is the age group where the athletes will begin traveling to tournaments and facing competition from other cities. FAIR PLAY, SPORTSMANSHIP and FUN are encouraged.
Pee Wee -Born in 1996, 1997 - $160.00
This divisions begins to get more competitive, with the winning ‘A’ team at the provincials representing Saskatchewan at the Canadian Western Championships. This age group is also divided into A, B and C teams based on skill level. Basic softball skills should be automatic now and more advanced skills are introduced and practiced. FAIR PLAY, SPORTSMANSHIP and FUN are encouraged.
Bantam -Born in 1994, 1995 - $160.00
This age group is where everything should be coming together. Skills have been developed and now the players are putting them into practice, as well as learning the strategies of the game. Our A, B and C divisions allow for a choice of competitiveness – highly competitive at A to recreational at C. . FAIR PLAY, SPORTSMANSHIP and FUN are encouraged.
Midget -Born in 1991, 1992, 1993- $120.00
Softball does not end at Bantam! The RMSL is continuing to offer
a Midget Division for graduating Bantam Players. There is only one Division
and they play Wednesday and Sunday nights. Teams participating in the RMGSL
have the option of registering for B or C Provincials. And, yes, as in all
other divisions, FAIR PLAY, SPORTSMANSHIP and FUN are encouraged!y
